Staten Island born and raised, Cliff Hagen has been an active part of this community for decades.
Deeply committed to our children's education and well-being, Cliff has spent over twenty years as a teacher at the Police Officer Rocco Laurie school, I.S. 72. He is an elected member of the School Leadership Team, and a key participant in the school safety committee and Code Blue Team. He will work to ensure the full implementation of the NYC Safer Access door-locking plan to protect students and staff. Cliff proudly supports several scholarship foundations, particularly the Police Officer Rocco Laurie Foundation, to help with the financial burden of higher education.
Cliff has been a dedicated advocate for over 30 years, fighting for students and neighbors with special needs. He is committed to ensuring the full delivery of all 504 services as documented through the IEP process.
Cliff stands with the hardworking men and women of the NYPD, FDNY, DSNY, and all municipal unions, pushing for increased pensions and benefits to retain the city’s boldest, bravest, and finest workforce.
For decades, Cliff has fought against overdevelopment, working closely with the Department of City Planning, community boards, elected officials, architects, and builders. His goal is to streamline the permitting process while preserving Staten Island’s remaining open spaces.
A champion for green spaces, Cliff has successfully advocated for the creation of parks, playgrounds, and ballfields. He will continue to demand that NYC Parks receive 1% of the city budget to maintain and improve neighborhood parks.
Cliff also serves as Staten Island’s sole representative on the Bayway Industries Community Advisory Panel, collaborating with oil industry leaders in Linden, New Jersey, to address environmental and industrial concerns.
Transparency in government is a top priority for Cliff. He will fight for accountability in BESS funding, charter school budgets, the MTA, and more.
